Pray for Protection of Human Life
Lord, and Maker of all that is good,
Fill our hearts with joy before the wonders of your creation.
Open our eyes to the presence of your beloved Son Jesus in all those we encounter
and especially in the weakest and most vulnerable among us.
When we see life threatened at its beginning or at its end,
Or by poverty and deprivation,
Inspire us with love and mercy
So that, empowered by your Holy Spirit,
We may work together to defend human dignity.
Help us to build a culture of life:
A culture in which each and every person is loved and valued as your child
from conception to natural death,
And in every circumstance of life.
Mary, Mother of the living, Pray for us.
A belated Welcome to Br. Roger!!
Well most, if not all, know me by now but if you’ve slipped through the cracks my name is Roger-Karol Niedzielski. I am a seminary intern studying for the Archdiocese of Edmonton now for my 7th year. This year I’m in the parish learning the ministry by helping service the parishes of St. Martin of Tours, Holy Heart of Mary and St. Gregory the Great. To share a bit about me: I love to cook, eat, read, collect coins and antiques, travel, fish and hunt and much more which I can tell ad nauseam just invite me for coffee. It is very exciting and an absolute blessing to be in the parishes and the schools this year and God willing my diaconate is just around the corner but you’ll hear about that soon enough.
Syrian Refigee Crisis:
Archbishop Richard Smith is asking all parishes in the archdiocese that a special Collection be taken on the weekend of October 18th to ease the misery of our suffering brothers and sisters. This effort is part of an appeal to all Catholics across the country. involving Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB), Canadian Organization for Development and Peace (CODP) and Catholic Near East Welfare Association (CNEWA).
We thank you in advance for your financial support regarding this matter.

PRAY for PEACE!
This weekend , in accordance with Pope Francis' request and the Canadian Council of Catholic Bishops, we are called to fast and pray for peace, especially in Syria and the Middle East, but also thoughout the whole world. Here is a sample prayer from Fr. Jack Lynch
God of compassion, hear the cries of the people of Syria,
comfort those who suffer from violence,
console those who mourn the dead,
give strength to Syria's neighbouring countries to welcome refugees,
convert the hearts of those who have taken up arms
and protect those who are committed to peace.
God of hope, inspire leaders to choose methods of peace over violence,
and to seek reconciliation with their enemies.
Enflame the universal Church with compassion for Syria,
and give us hope for a future built on justice for all.
In this we ask through Christ our Lord.
Pope Francis on the Eucharist:
"Let us pray that participation in the Eucharist provoke us always to follow the Lord every day, to be instruments of communion, to share with Him and with our neighbour who we are. Then our lives will be truly fruitful. Amen."
(May 29, 2013)
"We the members of these parish communities are called by our Baptism to discipleship in Jesus Christ to worship as a Catholic Christian community, to minister to one another, to educate in the light of the Gospel, and to evangelize by spreading the Good News. This is our challenge as we journey. Our role is to serve others in Jesus' name by following His example and to reach out to those in our community who need us."
